Perfume Company Can Sue Prince, Per Judge

A Huntingdon Valley company's lawsuit against superstar recording artist Prince can proceed, a New York Supreme Court judge has ruled.
Revelations Perfume & Cosmetics sued Prince last year, claiming the singer failed to promote a perfume Revelations had developed in conjunction with his 2006 album. The company said it spend $2.5 million developing and marketing 3121, but it tanked when Prince refused to make appearances or do anything else on its behalf.
Last week, a judge dropped two of the five counts against Prince and his Paisely Park Entertainment, but said fraud accusations could proceed.
Revelations said Prince promised to promote the perfume when he signed a letter agreeing to the contract struck between the company and his recording studio, Universal. Universal is also named in the suit; it has denied the claims. Prince has yet to file an answer.

Doesn't matter if he promoted it or not. I remember how hard it was to get that perfume at an actual Macy's store. At all the Macy's I visited they did not have, had never heard of it. Same thing online or the phone. I ordered it at Amazon. Got the purple velvet box set. If he had promoted it Macy's would had alot of upset people at the perfume counter. One other thing, I think it stinks. never use the stuff, but it sure looks good with my other p. memrobelia.

Yeah, I remember my local Macy's store never carried the perfume. When I asked the lady at the perfume counter, she said she'd never heard of it. I ordered a small bottle from Revelations website. I thought it smelled nice. Never bought anymore though.
Something 'bout ya. I don't know.
Makes me wanna go-go!

My wife and I were talking about this today. We live in South Florida and it was the same thing. They had not heard of it. If P would have hit a few cities with a show promoting it, it would have taken off. I have a ton of that stuff from when my wife and I went to Mpls for the 7.7.7 shows.
I hear P has a new drummer so things may be in the works for a new tour or some shows. Make some $, pay em off, move on ...

I could never find the perfume at Macy's either. & I wasn't about to buy it online without knowing what it smelled like 1st. So needless to say, I never bought it.
But I do believe that if Prince was more behind the product, it would have been a bit more mainstream.
