Jill Jones Talks About Prince Taking Down Videos
The Petit Prince & his Web Sheriff!!
Jill Jones
Prince continues his endless battle on the internet, this time he has demanded that the song Mia Bocca was taken down from Jill Jones' MySpace.
Jill Jones worked with Prince in the 80's, and the song in question was a result of this effort.
Princefams thinks that it's sad to see how little regard Prince holds for his former colleagues and friends. Jill Jones wanted to present this great song to her fans on MySpace, and it can only be seen as petty for Prince to demand it removed.
This is Jill's own comment about the situation:
It has come to my attention that the link to the Mia Bocca Video no longer works on my site. This is due to Prince's NPG Records copyright infringement whatever. I am saddened by this particularly as this song was jointly worked on. As I recall calling various Italian restaurants to get the direct translations for what we wanted to say.
That being said, we ended up getting several busboys I think who were Mexican and well Italian and Mexican...not the same. :-)LOL I was constantly corrected in Italy about my Bad Italian. (Only in fun tho')
Personality, Ego and the Essence of a man. Which one is he? Being in the world and not of it, is difficult.
All I can say at the moment is,
"He is like a man using a candle to look for the sun"

With this endless battle for copyright control and more money, it seems to me like someone forgot these words by Jesus. From the bible, New World Translation (Jehovas Witness' edition):
"Again I say to YOU, It is easier for a camel to get through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to get into the kingdom of God."

surely Jill should be able to fight this, after all she is the performer and is credited as co writer of the song.
True, but I doubt she has the big money and lawyers like 'Rude Boy'. If Prince is suing people who has his music playing in the background, why would he listen to her?
Money don't matter 2night, it sure didn't matter yesterday...

LOL! Well Said.
As is This Quote Jill Posted:

Bottomline to both!

I agree with you Pigg.
Although, it seem like a lot of people are scared to fight him back. From the way she speaks about it, it doesn't seem like she is going to fight him back. I hope she stands up for herself and Let's hope she didn't sign anything giving her rights away.

I must agree with you Endre and this is one of the biggest things that gives organized religion a bad name. The lies, back stabbing, money hungry men that come out of a place of worship treating the world as if no body is there equal. Very sad really.

Re: Jill Jones Talks About Prince Taking Down Videos
Here's another one of Jill's blogs. She's talking about the 1999 album cover:
Marilyn Monroe wants her arm back! And so do the other magazines, artwork creatives, photographers etc, whose intellectual property were used to create this collage.
I remember Prince had a site called "Love 4 one another" and he was saying music should be free, and don't get into CONtracts. Well a copyright is a sort of contract. Perhaps Jill is a "Slave" to Prince, lol. What I don't understand is why he takes videos off of youtube. Bootleg concert footage I can understand, but videos are basically a commercial for the album or single. Since MTV doesn't show videos anymore, and the others aren't likely to show videos of older artists, lots of acts are happy about being on youtube. Because of the uploading techniques, the material on youtube is poor quality anyway, so what can U do with it? I've noticed that Dailymotion has lots of "unofficial" footage and nothing is taken down. It must be non USA, and he has no jurisdiction over it. Maybe next, he's going to take down Stevie Nick's "Stand Back" video because he plays on it. Or "We Are The World" because Sheila E is in it.

Re: Jill Jones Talks About Prince Taking Down Videos
I went to the Twinz myspace page today and they have several videos of Prince on their page. Yet he made Jill take things off her page. The Twinz even have video of the 02 concert.

I think the reason the Twinz site is safe, for now, is that they are his flavor for the moment. I seems that once you leave the Prince umbrella, you are cut off.
Don't get it twisted, I still love him musically, even the stuff that sucks, but as a man, he is starting to piss me off. Used to be a time when I listened to Prince for a lift after a crappy day, now I'm listening to Metal for heavens sake!

Re: Jill Jones Talks About Prince Taking Down Videos
Prince is a total back stabbing type person. If you are in favor his at the time all is fine if you aren't then he uses all the money he made from us to fight you. If he never made another dime off his music or his imagine I might feel he has the reason to act as he does. Yet first give me a list of all the good deeds he has done for the world. He truly is a many you love to hate if you care about his music at all.
